Arctic Cotton: Eriophorum callitrix

While one of my sons and daughter-in-law were living in Nunavut in the Canadian Arctic, they provided me with photos of some of the short seasonal plant life growing in their conservation parks. It is quite amazing to see the variety of plant life that is actually sustainable within often very harsh and cold conditions in the North.

This piece was created in watercolour, as well as limited use of coloured pencil to try to capture the delicate and feathery look of the flowers, especially at end stage.
