Blanket Flower: Gaillardia

This colourful composition was completed in watercolour with some added pencil accents. This plant is also known as Indian Blanket Flower with the blooms resembling the bright yellows, oranges, and reds used in the traditionally created Native American blankets. This very multiple blooming plant has been been painted in all the various stages of growth, right through to seed. This plant blooms throughout the summer to frost. Seeds can be collected in the Fall and replanted.
