Lisianthus: Eustoma grandiflorum

These Lisianthus stems and blooms were painted in watercolour. The plant has an elegant and delicate appearance, but it is actually fairly hardy. The tight twirling buds unfurl into the most beautiful and romantic blooms of layered petals. It is often incorporated into floral bouquets, which is how it arrived at my home as part of a Valentine’s Day bouquet.
