Highbush Cranberry

Highbush Cranberry

Highbush Cranberry:  Viburnum opulus var americanum

This composition of a Highbush Cranberry in late Fall, was completed in coloured pencil. These beautiful shrubs, or small trees, produce clusters of drooping berry-like edible fruit. Berries seem to lend themselves well to the medium of coloured pencil giving the berries an almost wax-like image.

The colourful Fall leaves indicate the significant ravages of insects which bring more visual interest to this piece.
