Rudbeckia

1146 RudbeckiaRudbeckia:  Rudbeckia laciniata

This composition of the popular Rudbeckia plant, also known as Coneflower, was painted in water colour. This very hardy plant blooms mid Summer with bright yellow daisy-like, and somewhat drooping petals. The cone portion of the bloom can be quite a challenge for artists with its double helix to capture, both in contour and texture. In late Summer the leaves turn colour, together with drying leaves, providing seasonal changes for more visual interest.
