Wild Impatiens

Wild Impatiens: Balsaminaceae

This watercolour composition provides a view to the many and intricate stages of development of multiple blooms. The delicate blooms almost appear like a flower within a flower with a small tail. The fruit emerge as multiple shiny, ridged, and elongated pods.

This succulent plant prefers a damp environment and grows wild in late summer.

I have added some evidence of insect activity on the lower and larger leaves for added interest to this piece.
